The Cook County Treasurer has recently mailed the 2022 second installment tax bills. The payment due date is December 1, 2023. Due to increases in township assessment values, the State Equalization Factor, or local tax rates, most taxpayers may see an increase in taxes from 2021.
PRIOR APPEALS (2022, 2021, 2020)
Property owners for whom we have successfully appealed the 2022, 2021, or 2020 assessments, your new tax bill does reflect the reduction in assessment and tax savings on appeal. You are advised to review your tax bill to ensure all applicable exemptions are reflected.
2023 APPEALS
If you have retained our office to represent your interests in challenging your 2023 assessment, please remember that a final decision on appeal may take as long as nine (9) months. The tax savings will first be reflected on the second installment of your 2023 taxes (payable in the fall of 2024). This appeal will not affect your 2022 tax bill. You are advised to pay your 2022 second installment by its due date of December 1, 2023.
