The Cook County Treasurer has recently mailed the 2017 second installment tax bills. The payment due date is August 1, 2018. Due to historic increases in township assessment values, and an increase in the State Equalization Factor, most taxpayers may see a significant increase in taxes from 2016. 

TAX SAVINGS ON APPEAL  (2017, 2016, and 2015)

There is good news for property owners who successfully appealed their 2017, 2016 and 2015 assessments. Your new tax bill DOES reflect the savings on appeal. In fact, due to the increases in the state equalization factor and Homeowner's Exemption, your actual tax savings are even greater than your projected tax savings. 



2018 APPEALS: Taxpayers Appealing Your 2018 Assessments

If you have retained our office to represent your interests in challenging your 2018 assessment, please remember that a final decision on appeal may take as long as nine (9) months. The tax savings will first be reflected on the second installment of your 2018 taxes (payable in the fall of 2019). This appeal will not affect your 2017 taxes You are advised to pay the second installment of your 2017 taxes and the first installment of your 2018 taxes when they become due.
